Job Title: Machine Operator Location: 4040 Planned Industrial Dr, St. Louis, MO 63120 Company: Serioplast Employment Type: Full-Time Salary: $18-19 per hour Shifts: 12-hour shifts 6am-6pm/6pm-6am, rotating shift 2-2-3, every other weekend off
Job Overview: We are looking for a reliable and experienced Machine Operator to join our plastic manufacturing team. The Machine Operator will be responsible for setting up, operating, and monitoring plastic production machines. You will ensure that the machines run efficiently and safely, maintaining product quality and adhering to production schedules.
Key Responsibilities: Set up and operate plastic molding machines, including injection molding and extrusion machines. Load raw materials into the machine and ensure proper material feed during operation. Monitor machine operations to detect malfunctions or deviations from quality standards and make necessary adjustments. Perform quality checks on finished products to ensure they meet company specifications. Maintain and troubleshoot machines to ensure continuous operation, reporting any major issues to the maintenance team. Clean and maintain machines and work areas to ensure a safe and efficient working environment. Follow all safety procedures and ensure proper use of personal protective equipment (PPE). Record production data such as quantities, materials used, and downtime for machine performance tracking. Assist with machine changeovers, setups, and preventive maintenance activities. Collaborate with team members to meet production goals and improve operational efficiency.
Requirements: High school diploma or equivalent; vocational training or technical certifications preferred. Proven experience as a machine operator, preferably in a plastic manufacturing environment. Basic mechanical skills and knowledge of machine setup, operation, and troubleshooting. Ability to read and interpret work orders, machine manuals, and blueprints. Strong attention to detail to ensure product quality and reduce waste. Physical ability to stand for extended periods, lift heavy materials, and work in a factory setting. Ability to work well in a team environment and communicate effectively with supervisors and peers. Basic math and computer skills for data entry and process control.
Preferred Qualifications: Familiarity with safety standards in manufacturing environments. Knowledge of Lean Manufacturing principles or continuous improvement processes.
Work Environment: Fast-paced manufacturing environment with exposure to noise, machines, and production equipment. Regularly requires the use of PPE, including gloves, safety glasses, and ear protection.
