CITY OF ST JOSEPH Sewer Maintenance Laborer in SAINT JOSEPH, Missouri
Job Summary/Scope
Perform manual labor in the maintenance and construction of City's sanitary and combined sewer system. May operate heavy equipment as needed. No supervisory or budgetary responsibilities.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- Mixes mortar and assists in laying brick and blocks.
- Constructs concrete forms and performs concrete finish work.
- Required to be on call and/or carry a pager and responds to emergencies as needed.
- Cleans sewer lines and inlets.
- Repairs, rebuilds and replaces inlets and manholes.
- Operates jack hammer, dump truck and jet truck
- Cuts brush and weeds.
- Trims trees and branches as needed.
- Performs utility locates as needed.
- Maintains regular and reliable attendance.
Other Duties and Responsibilities
- Assists in excavating and repairing broken pipe.
- Drives snow plow and or salt spreader as needed.
- Performs all other related duties as assigned.
