The Role

Under the general supervision of the Sr. Service Desk Manager, the Assyst Systems Administrator’s primary functions include the administration, configuration, implementation, and maintenance of the IFS Assyst IT Service Management (ITSM) tool, working with business and IT stakeholders to developing solutions based on business requirements, configuring integrations and automations with various monitoring tools and applications.

What you'll do

  • Perform basic application administration including system account creation.

  • Carry out system upgrades and general system maintenance.

  • Troubleshoot application issues.

  • Create service requests and change request forms and workflows.

  • Create configuration items, service offerings, system email templates, action templates and ticket classification codes.

  • Work on various integrations utilizing Rest API.

  • Collaborate with various business groups and users to capture business requirements.

  • Determine viable solutions based on captured requirements, and then document and develop the selected solution.

  • Create and Maintain Power BI Datasets

  • Connected Power BI to new data sources such as, SQL/Oracle databases and spreadsheets.

  • Create reports using Data Analysis Expressions (DAX).

Required Qualifications/Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree in computer science, Information Systems, or equivalent.

  • Proven experience as a key technical resource leading the implementation, integration, and configuration of ITSM Platform solutions.

  • 2-3 years’ experience as an IFS Assyst Administrator or similar role.

  • Knowledge of ITSM ticketing solutions.

  • Must be proficient in various programming languages such as Lua, JavaScript, Python, Java, C#, and Regular expressions.

  • Experience with REST API integrations.

  • Intermediate or Advanced level of understanding of databases.

  • Familiarity with Power BI and Data Analysis Expressions (DAX).

  • Excellent problem-solving skills.

  • Strong communication skills to effectively capture business requirements.

  • Ability to effectively document and develop solutions.

  • Experience in the management of all phases of the application lifecycle and best practices to include requirement gathering, design, development, testing (application code and user acceptance), and deployment.

  • Ability to communicate effectively with both technical and non-technical individuals and teams.

  • Preference will be given to applicants with 5 years' experience in code development.

  • Strong knowledge of IT Service Management (ITSM) and the ITIL best practice framework

  • ITIL Certification would be considered an asset.
