Arnold Transit Company Facility Custodian in Saint Ignace, Michigan
Job Duties: Responsible for maintaining the cleanliness and orderliness of all company facilities, including offices, restrooms, common areas, and any assigned workspaces. Facility Custodian will perform a variety of tasks, including sweeping, mopping, trash removal, and general maintenance duties as directed by the Facilities Manager. Specifically:
- Clean and maintain all assigned areas of the facilities and company properties, including offices, restrooms, conference rooms, break rooms, docks, housing, laundry rooms or other areas assigned.
- Sweep, mop, vacuum, and dust floors and surfaces.
- Collect and dispose of trash and recycling from designated areas.
- Clean, sanitize, and restock restrooms and kitchen areas with necessary supplies.
- Perform routine cleaning of windows, mirrors, doors, and glass surfaces.
- Ensure floors are clear of debris, spills, and other hazards.
- Follow procedures for using chemical cleaners and power equipment to prevent damage to floors and fixtures.
- Operate equipment such as vacuums, and carpet cleaners.
- Replenish cleaning supplies and notify management when inventory needs to be ordered.
- Report any maintenance issues, damages, or safety hazards to the Facilities Manager.
- Assist with minor repairs or maintenance tasks as required (e.g., changing light bulbs, unclogging sinks).
- Set up and break down rooms for meetings or special events, including moving furniture and equipment.
- Maintain cleanliness of outdoor areas as needed, including walkways and entrances.
- Adhere to all safety and health regulations, including proper use of personal protective equipment (PPE)
- Operate golf carts, motor vehicles as needed to travel between locations.
- Perform additional tasks as directed by supervisor
- Aids with patrons in emergency situations.
Job opportunity is temporary and full-time. Four (4) positions open
Position Requirements: Will be required to:
- Speak and understand English;
- Work primarily nights, weekends, and holidays;
- Reach with hands and arms;
- Stand, walk, and sit;
- Use hands to finger, handle and/or feel;
- Occasionally climb, balance, stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl; and
Lift and/or move up to 40 pounds and frequently lift and/or move up to 10 pounds. We do not test, we simply accept the applicant's word that they can do so.
No prior experience or education is required.

Fringe benefits not provided. Housing available at $150.00 bi-weekly. Not a condition of employment, is optional, and will be deducted from bi-weekly payroll in addition to other deductions authorized by law. Employer will make no other deductions from the worker's paycheck except those required by law.

Period of employment: Seven (7) + months (April 1, 2025 to October 31, 2025)
Employer will offer 40 hours per week. Full time. Shifts of 8 hours: 6:45 a.m. to 2:45 p.m. Shift times / lengths and days of week may vary. Business is open 7 days a week.
Rate of Pay: $18.00 per hour
Overtime: $27.00 per hour as applicable
Eligible for bonus of $2.00 per hour for every hour worked, provided worker meets our good attend
