ST CHARLES COUNTY GOVERNMENT ASSISTANT MUNICIPAL COURT ADMINISTRATOR - ST. CHARLES COUNTY MUNICIPAL COURT in Saint Charles, Missouri
JOB OVERVIEW:
The purpose of this position is to provide assistance in the administration of the day-to-day operations of the court. This position also provides customer service by responding to inquiries for information on court processes; and provide courtroom and clerical assistance. Serves as a lead worker for the Court Clerk and Assistant Court Clerks
RESPONSIBILITIES:
Supervises municipal court in Judges and/or Administrators absence. Enters payroll in court administrators absence.
Completes assistant court clerk annual evaluations.
Works closely with court administrator in developing procedures/policies regarding the day-to-day operation of the court.
- Conducts training for new personnel.
- Processes requests for certified copies.
- Enters probation information, tracks and enters violation reports and/or suspensions or completions of probation files.
- Enters requisitions of accounts payable items.
- Greets walk-in traffic in need of assistance providing information on court processes as appropriate.
- Receives phone calls, handles calls as appropriate, takes messages or transfers caller to appropriate person/department.
- Files and retrieves tickets. Performs data entry for each case; enters tickets, disposition and court costs information.
- Attends Municipal Court Traffic Violation sessions.
- Accepts appearance, waiver of trial and plea of guilty and payment of fines and costs. Accepts cash bail, enters appearance on docket and notifies arresting officer and witnesses for plea of not guilty.
- Takes oaths and affirmations. Accepts signed complaints.
- Prepares daily court session reports to include: defendant name, type of violation, disposition, fines and court fees assessed and collected.
- Prepares docket, reviews case files, prepares court orders, serves in courtroom, prepares reports, and accepts fees.
- Assists in processing credit card batches.
- Enters payroll for approval.
- Monitors/Responds to municipal court email correspondence.
- Assists with scheduling/maintaining virtual court docket.
- Process letters of incarceration and time served requests as directed by the Judge.
- Assists in daily and month end financials and payables as needed.
- Performs various administrative duties in absence of Court Administrator.
