The Maintenance / Safety officer is responsible for scheduling vehicle maintenance, performing routine building maintenance, and ensure that the GCRC program sites are in compliance with all OSHA standards and safety procedures. This is a Job Coach position requiring the staff to work with individuals with a developmental disability learn the skills associated with basic vehicle and building maintenance and safety procedures. In addition to the responsibilities listed on the Job Coach job description, the Maintenance / Safety Officer position includes the additional qualifications and responsibilities:

Qualifications:

• Experience in Building and Vehicle maintenance
• Have received some type of certified safety training (OSHA, MSHA, etc.)
• Prefer some teaching / training experience
• Meet all the requirements for being a service provider for GCRC including background checks and training.

Responsibilities:

• Perform and document monthly vehicle inspections, and schedule vehicles for repairs as needed.
• Monitor the maintenance budget and report any non-budgeted needs to the Program Director.
• Perform and document monthly building inspections and perform any need maintenance such as replace AC unit filters, replace light bulbs, outlet covers, etc.
• Maintain all GCRC owned facilities. This can include light construction work as needed including painting, demolition, and minor repairs that dont require a licensed contractor or building permit.
• Perform and document monthly safety inspection on any heavy equipment or machinery such as balers. Forklift, paper shredder, cutting machines etc.
• Work with Senior Management to create safety Policies and Procedures and amend as needed.
• Conduct safety training classes for all employees on a as needed basis and at a minimum of every 6 months. Safety training classes include lock-out/tag-out procedures, electrical safety,
• Supervise the training of employees on using heavy equipment (balers, shredders, by training the coaches, writing procedures and sign off when they are the Job coach and members trained by the job coach, are qualified to use the equipment.
• Perform the forklift training for new forklift drivers prior to operating the forklift.
• Enforce safety procedures and discipline employee for any safety violations according to GCRC safety Policies and Procedures.
• Perform OSHA Safety Training utilizing the OSHA 10 hour curriculum to all staff
• Maintain and implement the GCRC Emergency Action Plan including scheduling and performing safety drills such as fire drills, lockdown procedures, evacuation procedures and so on.

Pay:

• \$14.00 - \$15.00 per hour
