The ideal candidate for this job should have the following credentials:\ \ REQUIREMENTS:
Project Oversight:
- Supervise and coordinate the daily activities of field crews, subcontractors, and equipment operators.
- Ensure the proper execution of construction plans, specifications, and schedules.
- Monitor progress and provide feedback to the Superintendent on project status, delays, or changes.
Safety Management:
- Enforce safety protocols to maintain a safe work environment for all personnel.
- Conduct daily safety meetings and ensure compliance with OSHA and company safety standards.
- Identify potential hazards and take corrective action as needed.
Resource Management:
- Allocate labor, equipment, and materials efficiently to meet project demands.
- Inspect tools and equipment to ensure proper working condition and availability.
- Minimize waste and manage site logistics to optimize productivity.
Quality Control:
- Inspect work for compliance with project specifications and industry standards.
- Address and resolve any quality issues promptly.
- Maintain detailed records of project progress and issues encountered.
Leadership & Team Development:
- Train and mentor crew members to enhance skills and knowledge.
- Foster a positive team environment, encouraging collaboration and problem-solving.
- Evaluate crew performance and provide constructive feedback.
- Must pass pre-employment and subsequent random drug screenings.
EXPERIENCE:
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in heavy civil construction (roads, bridges, earthwork, utilities, etc.).
- Proven track record in a supervisory or leadership role.
- Must be able to effectively communicate.
- Will be required to work in a team environment with fellow employee-owners.
- Able to lift and carry a minimum of 50 lbs.
SKILLS:
- Strong knowledge of construction techniques, equipment, and safety practices.
- Excellent problem-solving and decision-making abilities.
- Effective communication and interpersonal skills.
- Proficient in reading blueprints and construction documents.
