Your Opportunity

Stantec is actively seeking eager, enthusiastic candidates for a full-time Staff Level Hydrologic and Hydraulic Modeling position with our Water Resources & Engineering group in Northern California/Northern Nevada (can be based elsewhere in the US as we have a diverse team from across the Country concentrating on work in the Western US). We need you to be ready to build on the solid technical skills you learned in life and other career steps. You will perform a variety of tasks which may include assistance in the development of hydrologic and hydraulic models and calculations under the direction of a senior level design professional as part of a design team. These assignments may be broad, complex, diverse and are expected to help you grow to in confidence and technical ability delivering our local, state, and global transportation, restoration, recreation, and stormwater projects throughout the Western U.S.

Your Key Responsibilities:

• Development, updates and calibration of hydrologic and hydraulic models under the direction of a senior level design professional.

• Coordination with a team of drainage design engineers to support the designs.

• Use of/working in modeling software for hydrology and hydraulics, including the following software suites:

• HEC-RAS

• HEC-HMS

• SWMM

• CivilStorm

• HY-8

• CulvertMaster

• FlowMaster

• Development and preparation of design reports under the direction of a senior level design professional.

• Develop presentations and exhibits for client and agency meetings under the direction of a senior level design professional.

Qualifications

Your Capabilities and Credentials:

• Demonstrated experience in working as part of a large team and working with interdisciplinary team members.

• Demonstrated experience in hydrologic and hydraulic modelling.

• Self-motivated with strong written and verbal communication skills.

• Adaptable—willing and able to learn and apply new modeling software/methods/techniques.

• Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite.

• Transportation (Railway and or Roadway) hydrologic and hydraulic modeling experience a plus.

• Experience with Geographic Information System Mapping methods.

• Ability to creatively apply technical knowledge.

• Attention to detail, positive attitude, desire to support team success, and ability to function well in a fast-paced environment.

Education and Experience:

• Bachelor of Science (BS) degree in Civil Engineering, Environmental Science (or related field).

• Experience: With a minimum of two years of related work experience in hydrology and hydraulics.

This position has the flexibility of working in a hybrid work environment with a mix of remote work and in office work. Typical office environment working with computers and remaining sedentary for long periods of time. Field work may include exposure to the elements including inclement weather.

Salary Range(s):

• NYC $43.75/Outside NYC $34.71 Per Hour - NYC $63.41/Outside NYC $50.34 Per Hour Min/Max Pay Range(s) for postings located in NYC/NY

• $38.17 Per Hour - $55.38 Per Hour Min/Max Pay Range for postings located in CO and HI

• $40.96 Per Hour - $59.38 Per Hour Min/Max Pay Range for postings located in WA

• SF Area $43.75/CA Other Areas $34.71 Per Hour - SF Area $63.41/CA Other Areas $55.38 Per Hour Min/Max Pay Range for postings located in CA (SF Area includes SF, SJS & WLC)

The final agreed upon compensation is based on individual education, qualifications, experience, and work location. At Stantec certain roles are bonus eligible.
