Sutter Health Pharmacy 340B Program Analyst in Sacramento, California

Position Overview:

Manages all areas and responsibilities related to the daily operations of the federal 340B drug discount program. Partners with all pharmacy buyers and personnel to ensure accuracy and optimization of 340B accruals, discounts, and proper inventory management of pharmaceutical products and supplies. Collaborates with the transplant clinic, pharmacy, retail pharmacies and the inpatient purchasing systems to facilitate and process medication approval and dispensation to eligible patients. Ensures program integrity and compliance with all applicable laws and regulations, including monitoring and insurance authorizations. Serves as the primary contact for contract pharmacies, wholesale distributors and 340B software vendors to manage efficient, compliant distribution, and complete accurate documentation.

EDUCATION:

Equivalent experience will be accepted in lieu of the required degree or diploma.

  • HS Diploma or equivalent education/experience

CERTIFICATION & LICENSURE:

  • PHARMC-Certified Pharmacy Technician

PREFERRED EXPERIENCE AS TYPICALLY ACQUIRED IN:

  • 4 years of recent experience.

SKILLS AND KNOWLEDGE:

  • Current knowledge of State, Federal, and professional industry standards pertaining to the pharmaceutical, healthcare, and 340B program requirements.

  • Working knowledge of medical terminology and drug nomenclature, including a proficiency in math and pharmacy calculations.

  • Demonstrated expertise and in-depth knowledge with auditing data in order to identify issues, trends, or exceptions.

  • Written/verbal communication, interpersonal, and teaching skills to explain 340b procedures or sensitive information clearly and professionally to diverse audiences, including patients, caregivers, other healthcare providers, internal and contract pharmacies, and community resources.

  • Proficient computer skills, including a working knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, PowerPoint, and Word) and the ability to work with multiple information systems.

  • Work independently as well as be part of an interdisciplinary team, while demonstrating attention to detail and solid organizational skills.

  • Prioritize activities and work within defined policies, procedures, and practices to achieve objectives and meet deadlines; help determine appropriate approach for new assignments.

  • Use experience and existing precedents or procedures to resolve atypical or infrequent problems; provide informal guidance and support to junior team members.

  • Ensure the privacy of each patient’s protected health information (PHI).

  • Build collaborative relationships with patients, peers, other healthcare providers, internal and contract pharmacies, vendors, manufacturers, community resources, and federal agencies to provide discounted drugs to eligible participants.

Pay Range is $49.17 to $61.46 / hour. Colorado, Florida, Georgia, Illinois, Michigan, Nevada, North Carolina, Oregon, Pennsylvania, Texas Pay Range is $44.70 to $55.88 / hour. Arizona, Arkansas, Idaho, Louisiana, Missouri, Montana, South Carolina, Tennessee, Utah Pay Range is $40.98 to $51.22 / hour.

The salary range for this role may vary above or below the posted range as determined by location. This range has not been adjusted for any specific geographic differential applicable by area where the position may be filled. Compensation takes into account several factors including but not limited to a candidate’s experience, education, skills, licensure and certifications, department equity, training and organizational needs. Base pay is just one piece of the total rewards program offered by Sutter Health. Eligible roles also qualify for a comprehensive benefits package.
