Insight Globals client, a wastewater company in the Sacramento area, is seeking to hire a payroll tax accountant to assist with their payroll operations. This position will be responsible for supporting the payroll team with various aspects of tax related concerns including quarterly and annual tax filing with the IRS and EDD and end of year W2 processing. This person will be responsible for reconciling payroll accounts and employee benefits information including CalPERS medical, 457, 401A, SCERS, etc. This accountant will work in the ERP system to generate reports and tax related documentation. They will take on the responsibility of payroll garnishments and assist with other payroll related functions.

pay range: $44-54/hr

Skills and Requirements

• 3-5 years of experience as an accountant

• 2+ years of experience supporting payroll taxes

• ERP experience, preferably tyler system

• experience with quarterly and annual tax filing with IRS and EDD

• familiar with processing payroll garnishments

• experience reconciling payroll accounts - public sector experience

• experience with benefits including CalPERS medical, 457, 401A, SCERS, etc.

• payroll or tax certifications null
