Emily Krous with Robert half is working with a client to find a rockstar payroll specialist.

This client is offering an exciting opportunity for a diligent Multi-State Payroll Specialist to join our team, based in Sacramento, California.

This is an in office, full time role. DIRECT HIRE.

This role is centered around ensuring accurate and on-time payroll processing for employees across multiple states. This position operates within the industry and involves significant collaboration with HR and Accounting departments.

Responsibilities:

• Processing payrolls for employees across various states

• Ensuring compliance with all relevant payroll laws and regulations

• Maintaining and updating payroll records regularly

• Handling special payroll transactions such as bonuses, commissions, and overtime payments

• Preparing and filing payroll tax returns in a timely manner

• Addressing and resolving employee payroll inquiries promptly

• Collaborating with HR and Accounting departments to ensure smooth operation

• Generating payroll reports for management review

• Utilizing skills in Multi-state Payroll and ADP - Payroll to optimize processes

• Overseeing the overall payroll function and suggesting improvements when necessary

Requirements

• Minimum of 3 years of experience in a Payroll Clerk role or similar

• Proven experience in multi-state payroll processing
