Description We are offering a contract to permanent employment opportunity for a Medical Billing Specialist in Sacramento, California. This role is integral to our team, with key functions centered around processing and monitoring customer applications and records, particularly within the Ophthalmology field.

Responsibilities:

• Efficiently processing patient insurance verifications, ensuring validity and clear communication about coverage details

• Accurate itemization and coding of services provided for billing, involving the transmission of claims to insurance companies and patients

• Diligent monitoring and follow-up of submitted claims to secure timely payments

• Investigation and rectification of denied claims, including resubmission for payment

• Proficient use of EPIC software for effective data and workflow management

• Compliance with federal and state laws in all billing practices, and staying updated on coding regulations and guidelines

• Addressing billing issues raised by patients, insurance companies, or clinicians, and finding effective solutions to resolve them Requirements • Proficiency in using EHR SYSTEM for efficient patient record management

• Solid understanding and experience in managing Accounts Receivable (AR)

• Demonstrated ability to handle Appeals in a timely and detail oriented manner

• Strong knowledge of standard Billing Functions in a healthcare setting

• Experience in Claim Administration, ensuring proper processing and follow up

• Expertise in Medical Billing, with a focus on accuracy and compliance

• Familiarity with Epic EMR and ability to use it efficiently for various tasks
