Job Overview:
The Principal Quality Ops Tech directly impacts their team's and related team's effectiveness. They exchange ideas and information relating to operations effectively. The Principal Quality Ops Tech may work autonomously within established operations procedures and practices. They act as a lead, coordinating the work of others. The Principal Quality Ops Tech proposes improvements to processes and methods within the operations discipline.
Key Tasks and Responsibilities:
Document all welding engineering documents, i.e., QPR, WPS, Welders Qualification Certificates, Welding Execution plan, Method Statements, etc., and other project-related documents
Prepare weld maps and other QA/QC-related drawings utilizing CAD application
PCM input on the welder’s qualification module
Responsible for the development, administration, and maintenance of the following QA/QA and Welding Engineering SharePoint sites and databases as follows:
Welding Engineering SharePoint site
Welding Technology Council global site
WPQR database
Vendor Performance Database (VPD)
Marine Welders Qualification Database
Liaise with welding engineers and QA/QC personnel regarding the documentation aspects of the projects
Maintain an orderly and retrievable file (both hard copy and electronic copy)
Essential Qualifications and Education:
3 years of Bachelor’s degree
10+ years of technical or relevant experience
Knowledge of CAD drafting software
Knowledge of the Windows Operating System
Knowledge of MS Office Applications
