Kyndryl Associate Director, Tax Accounting in Rye Brook, New York

The Role

Kyndryl is seeking an experienced and dynamic individual to join our US-based Tax Operations team as an Associate Director, Tax Accounting. The primary focus of this role is to assist in the management of the tax consolidation process for Kyndryl’s global tax provision for all quarters and year ends under ASC 740, in partnership with the company’s outsourced service providers. The position also involves significant interactions with external auditors and various process owners within the company (Accounting, FP&A, External Reporting, Treasury, Legal, etc.).

Key Responsibilities:

  • Prepare and/or review tax account reconciliations in reconciliation tool for accuracy and appropriate level of documentation.

  • Assist in the determination of the quarterly and annual effective tax rate (“ETR”).

  • Assist in the preparation and/or review of cash tax forecasts and reconciliations.

  • Prepare and/or review of the Form 10K and Form 10Q tax footnote.

  • Assist in data gathering within SAP ledger as necessary to liaise with the company’s outsourced service provider in the preparation of tax provision workpapers.

  • Review items/deliverables prepared by the company’s outsourced service provider.

  • Collaborate with the financial reporting team to understand tax impacts of GAAP accounting policies, corporate M&A transactions, and tax law changes.

  • Manage the recording and delivery of journal entries to ensure tax impacts to the company’s financial statements are presented in accordance with ASC 740.

  • Support compliance efforts for SOX 404 regarding financial controls and documentation requirements.

  • Connect and communicate with the company’s regional/local country Tax and Accounting teams and US tax compliance teams on tax accounting implications.

Who You Are

  • This is an individual contributor role, and people management experience is not required. This position will work extensively with external advisors.

  • Bachelor's Degree in Accounting is required

  • 6+ years of experience in a Big 4 firm and/or an in-house tax department

  • Occasional travel to the NYC office may be required for meetings.

  • Strong demonstrated experience in tax accounting

  • Experience with ASC 740 and US multinational operations is required

  • CPA, MST, or LLM is preferred

The compensation range for the position in the U.S. is $116,760 to $221,880 based on a full-time schedule. Your actual compensation may vary depending on your geography, job-related skills and experience. For part time roles, the compensation will be adjusted appropriately. The pay or salary range will not be below any applicable state, city or local minimum wage requirement.

There is a different applicable compensation range for the following work locations:

California: $128,400 to $266,040

Colorado: $116,760 to $221,880

New York City: $140,040 to $266,040

Washington: $128,400 to $243,960

This position will be eligible for Kyndryl’s discretionary annual bonus program, based on performance and subject to the terms of Kyndryl’s applicable plans. You may also receive a comprehensive benefits package which includes medical and dental coverage, disability, retirement benefits, paid leave, and paid time off. Note: If this is a sales commission eligible role, you will be eligible to participate in a sales commission plan in lieu of the annual discretionary bonus program.
