Job Description

As a Drives Engineer, you will perform, test and commission marine drive systems in support of new build, upgrade and service related projects. As part of your job, you will verify systems commissioned matches functional design specification and implement necessary corrections to ensure specification details are met.

In this role you will focus on:

  • Working with lead Field Service Engineers to complete tasks to ensure the technical integrity and proper installation and commissioning of GE drive systems at site locations.

  • Completing installation and wiring modifications to a high standard.

  • Maintenance activities on drive and control equipment.

  • Writing installation, modification and maintenance reports.

  • Reading and understanding project documentation including instruction manuals, drawings and procedures.

  • Complying with both Company and Customer EHS policies, procedures and safe systems of work.

  • Maintaining personal competence by completing all applicable training in line with company requirements.

  • Coordinating additional opportunities to serve the customer with the customer service team, parts, other FSE’s, repair services, sales, and product engineering teams.

  • Completing timely administrative requirements, timesheets, daily logs etc.

  • Performing work on-board vessels within GE / Customer safety guidelines either in shipyards or offshore.

We are looking for a committed and professional individual with:

  • Higher National Diploma in Electrical Engineering, or equivalent, from a reputable college or university or equivalent knowledge & experience.

  • Must have established record of site work.

  • Experience with PC/PLC equipment.

  • A recognized Health and Safety training including risk assessment.

  • A willingness to travel to customer sites for extended periods of time within the UK and abroad.

  • A willingness to work for extended hours/overtime when required during peak periods and emergency circumstances.

  • Basic Life Support (CPR).

  • Valid Passport to Safety (PTS) training.

  • Full Clean Driving license.
