The Project Management Team Lead will be part of the Siemens Global Centre of Competence for Data Center (https://xcelerator.siemens.com/global/en/industries/data-centers.html) projects, based in The Hague. We are one of the leading global suppliers of products, systems, solutions, and services for the economical, reliable, and intelligent transmission and distribution of electrical power. As the trusted partner for the development and extension of an efficient and reliable power infrastructure, Smart Infrastructure offers utilities and the industry the portfolio they need. The complexity in our projects is determined by size, speed, location(s) and continuous pressure in realisation. In other words, dynamic projects with great clients. The projects are global, so the main language is English.

Team

Your team consists of 8 people from different cultures and backgrounds, a mix of junior, midterm and senior professionals. Due to successful sales, in the upcoming year, your team will need to grow to 13 project managers.

Your manager Erik is an experienced Project Manager, who knows how to inspire and develop his team. Your partners are the team, engineers, customers, subcontractors, and our colleagues of the Siemens factories.

You will make a difference by:

  • Coordinates overall planning of projects and decides on allocation of resources.

  • Maintains constant communication to customers, outside contractors or other partners.

  • Is responsible for efficiency of Project Management in the related projects, within the team.

  • Runs or supports consolidation and completion of budget plannings for all projects, and ensures related reporting.

  • Allocates financial and personnel resources, to the assigned projects.

  • Monitors continuously the status of all assigned projects, and supports the accountable Project Managers.

  • Ensures that quality standards for Project Management processes are always met.

  • Initiate improvements and ensures appropriate PM workflow environment.

  • May clarify cases of resource conflicts, in cooperation with PMO organisation.

  • Coordinates and supervises a dedicated team of Project Managers.

Helping us drive our future vision, your toolkit may include some of these key skills:

  • An engaging leader who can empower, encourage, motivate, and develop others. You will have gained at least 5 years of managerial experience in a technical environment, where you played a key role in the development and performance of your team. Experience of dealing with a diverse group of people is key.

  • A technical bachelor or master degree (preferably electrical engineering) and a project management certificate (PM@Siemens or PMP).

  • Minimum of eight years’ work experience as a Project Manager in a comparable industry (electrical, infrastructure, building).

  • Change is your norm! You’re open to change and an agent of change, that becomes infectious to others. Knowledge of digital technology and experience with/know how to apply digital solutions are important.

  • Planning and handling budgets, deriving financial goals and initiating a business plan to achieve these.

  • Speaking and writing fluently English is a must for this position, Dutch is an advantage.

  • Living in the region of The Hague, Rotterdam or Amsterdam.
