Community Health Systems Medical Technologist in Roswell, New Mexico

Eastern New Mexico Medical Center has an opening for a Full-Time Medical Lab Tech!

As a Medical Lab Tech at Eastern New Mexico Medical Center, you'll play a vital role in doing what you do best- providing quality care to our patients. Our Lab staff enjoy a robust benefits package including health insurance, 401K, flexible scheduling, 100% licensure/certification reimbursement

The Medical Technologist must promote good public relations for the department and Eastern New Mexico Medical Center while maintaining patient/customer confidentiality. Medical Technologists are responsible for:

  • Performs manual and automated routine blood tests.

  • Prepares specimens for microscope examination.

  • Operates laboratory equipment including centrifuges, dry bath incubators, and blood bank refrigerators.

  • Relies on experience and judgment to plan and accomplish goals.

  • Performs a variety of tasks. A certain degree of creativity and latitude is expected.

  • Typically reports to supervisor or manager.

  • Requires graduation from an accredited MT/MLT program and passing a national exam given by the Board of Registry of the American Society for Clinical Pathology, American Medical Technology, or HEW.

  • Familiar with standard concepts, practices, and procedures within a particular field.

Education / License / Certification:

  • Associates or Bachelors degree in Medical Laboratory Science required

  • 1-5 years experience in field or related area

  • ASCP preferred

Experience / Skills:

  • Able to meet sensory requirements of the job.

  • Capable of performing all laboratory tests and related calculations.

  • Able to participate in laboratory Quality Assurance Program

  • Attention to detail and concentration

  • Ability to work in fast-paced, ever-changing environment
