Salvation Army Donor Relations Associate in Roseville, Minnesota

Position Summary The Salvation Army Northern Division Headquarters (DHQ) is doing the most good by supporting our worship, housing, and service centers, meeting the needs of local communities, and administering emergency disaster services. The Donor Relations Associate manages a mid-level fundraising program to identify, engage, and upgrade donors for The Salvation Army. This role involves coordinating strategic communications, mission-driven experiences, and personalized interactions. The Associate collaborates with the Northern Division Development Department to meet organizational goals. Key responsibilities include managing a portfolio of donors, building dynamic relationships with individuals, couples, and families, and appropriately thanking donors within a specified giving range. $24.33 - $28.85/hour, 40 hours/week 2445 Prior Ave N, Roseville, MN 55113 Essential Functions (approximate time spent) Manage a portfolio of 250-500 top mid-level giving prospects and donors, cultivating relationships through updates, appreciation, and solicitation to deepen their partnership with The Salvation Army. (40%) Develop, manage, and control all aspects of the Divisional Direct Mail program, including strategic planning, vendor contracts, relationships, and performance to ensure the efficient delivery of contracted products and services. (20%) Execute strategy through phone, email, and mail communication, prioritizing face-to-face communication for the highest-tier donors. (20%) Capture and update new information about donors' interests, relationships, life events, and philanthropic capacity for entry into the donor's database record. (10%) Identify potential major gift donor within the mid-level donors for promotion to the major gift program and help steward donors who have reached their maximum giving potential. (10%) Education and Experience Bachelor's Degree in a relevant field preferred, instead of a degree, a combination of education and experience will be considered. 3 years of relationship-building or related work experience Must pass background checks, have a valid driver's license, and pass the MVR check. Competencies Effective conversational and presentation skills, demonstrating emotional intelligence and situational awareness. Excellent writing skills and ability to create proposals and marketing material for donors. Proven expertise in developing and maintaining positive relationships with diverse individuals. Skilled in problem-solving, strategic thinking, creativity, initiative, and good follow-through. A high level of comfort with direct donor interaction, including discussing personal and family finances and asking for significant financial commitments. Team player with the ability to collaborate effectively with others. High level of honor in dealing with confidential information. Works with integrity, valuing honesty, and diligence. Proficient in using PC, Microsoft Office, databases, and standard office equipment. Working Conditions Mostly sedentary work, sitting for long periods and working on a computer. Professional environment; eligible for a remote-friendly work environment. Must be able to communicate clearly in English. Standard business hours with occasional evenings and weekends. Must be able to lift 20 pounds occasionally. Supervisory Responsibilities None. Driving/Travel Requirements Will occasionally travel locally and within the state using an agency fleet vehicle.
