Description

Lisa Cole with Robert Half is currently partnering with a Construction company that is looking to add an Assistant Controller to the team. The Assistant Controller will have an opportunity to grow to the Controller and will report to the CFO. The successful candidate will play a crucial role in overseeing daily operations, assisting with financial preparation and analysis, maintaining fixed asset schedules, and improving internal procedures. Responsibilities:

• Oversee day-to-day operations of the accounting staff

• Assist in preparing Journal Entries, General Ledger Reconciliations, and other ad-hoc analysis

• Handle end of month Work in Progress (WIP) and Project Accounting Reconciliations

• Execute monthly, quarterly, and annual financial close and review financial statements and bank reconciliations

• Maintain and update Fixed Asset and Depreciation schedules

• Prepare monthly bank reconciliations

• Facilitate annual corporate audit, tax provision, and tax return in conjunction with external CPA

• Assist with the annual corporate budget

• Prepare corporate forecast on a monthly and quarterly basis

• Oversee accounts payable process including vendor setup, invoice coding, and approval

• Monitor corporate and construction bank deposit process

• Monitor and project cash balances and cash needs for corporate and construction entities

• Assist in developing and maintaining internal controls, processes, and procedures to safeguard company assets and ensure accuracy of financial data.

Requirements

Qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree in accounting finance or related field.

• 7+ years of experience in a similar role within the Construction/Contractor industry

• Proficiency in managing Budget Processes is required

• Experience with WIP - Work in Progress

• Understanding and application of percentage (%) of completion accounting method is essential

• Must be adept at the Month End Close process
