In this job, you will provide hands-on project management, resource coordination, project budget management, vendor management, and various ancillary duties required to initiate, execute, and conclude each assigned project. You will also lead cross-functional teams and activities related to the development of scope, plans, schedules, and execution of assigned projects.

The successful candidate will be assigned a range of short-term and long-term projects to be executed simultaneously and will be responsible for independent decision-making to mitigate risks and resolve project-related issues. Additionally, you will apply your technical expertise to review and approve detailed technical submittals and design standards. You will also lead and/or work collaboratively as a team member on technically complex security projects that require review and approval of plans, drawings, specifications, calculations, evaluations, design documents, and assessments associated with the design, construction, operation, and maintenance of security systems and technologies.

This role will require significant field visitations to various SCE sites to verify, measure, inspect, and guide vendor activities. You will work in collaboration with internal and external resources and represent the Company with contractors, suppliers, other departments, and/or other parties as required. You will regularly interact with all levels of management and act as a key consultant to management for both functional and broad business issues.

  • Identifies and documents project requirements and budgetary needs and requirements for the various projects for physical security capital improvements

  • Identifies, measures, and mitigates risks associated with security projects, alerting PMO and Corporate Security (CS) management of risks and challenges

  • Identifies and manages tasks, assigns and tracks resources related to requirements & budgets working with CS project managers and analysts

  • Review technical submittals, procedures, investigate and recommend improvement areas by suppliers/vendors and other stakeholders

  • Documents and evaluates complex technical standards, submittals, processes, and procedures

  • Communicates and presents project updates to stakeholders to ensure awareness and escalates as needed

  • Promotes safety and safe work practices in alignment with SCE safety standards

  • A material job duty of all positions within the Company is ensuring the protection of all its physical, financial and cybersecurity assets, and properly accessing and managing private customer data, proprietary information, confidential medical records, and other types of highly sensitive information and data with the highest standards of conduct and integrity.

The essentials

  • 7 or more years of project management experience including scope, schedule and budget.

  • Experience working with capital construction projects.

The preferred

  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Engineering or other related disciplines

  • PMP Certification

  • Experience interpreting construction and MEP (Mechanical Electrical Plumbing) drawings.

  • Experience interpreting and/or designing electrical single-line and logic diagrams

  • Understanding of crime prevention through environmental design (CPTED)

  • 10 or more years of project management experience

  • 5 or more years of contract management experience

  • This position’s work mode is hybrid. The employee will report to an SCE facility for a set number of days with the option to work remotely on the remaining days.  Unless otherwise noted, employees are required to reside in the state of California.  Further details of this work mode will be discussed at the interview stage. The work mode can be changed based on business needs.
