We are currently hiring a Team Lead – Production 2nd Shift  wage based on experience, starting at $18.80/HR. Hours are 5 pm – 3:30 am Monday - Thursday with opportunities for overtime pay.

This position is a leader and contact person for employees throughout the day.  Working with the Production Supervisor assigns duties to employees, ensures completion of tasks, reports any employee/ production/ equipment issues to the Production Supervisor, etc. Participate in and support Rome facility metrics, initiatives, and programs. Work with other team members to create and maintain a safe, organized working environment/culture that meets/exceeds MAT HD - Rome facility standards and customer expectations.

Principle Responsibilities

  • Assist the Production Supervisor with operations of the designated area.

  • Backup Production Supervisor when needed to include positive relationship building.

  • Assume leadership responsibilities on the floor.

  • Assign duties to employees and ensure completeness of tasks.

  • Conduct and participate in team meetings.

  • Communicate with the Production Supervisor on any employee/production or equipment issues.

  • Identify developmental needs for employees and perform training on operations.

  • Ensure that all jobs are performed safely, equipment is kept in safe working condition, and proper PPE is available and worn.

  • When applicable, distribute all PM’s to appropriate personnel and follow up for completion.

  • Oversee the operation of all aspects of production in the area of responsibility.

  • Perform routine maintenance on applicable equipment.

  • Knowledgeable of all positions in the area of responsibility.

  • Operate computer and database systems.

  • Assist the Production Supervisor with the preparation of required metrics and tracking. 

  • Additional duties assigned by Supervisor and/or member of Management.

  • An HS Diploma/GED is required, and some colleges prefer it.

  • Strong leadership abilities.

  • Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to identify developmental needs with employees.

  • Ability to backup Production Supervisor.

  • Strong focus on safety.

  • 2 to 5 years of experience in a heavy manufacturing environment preferred.

  • Willingness and ability to adapt to a dynamic work environment.

  • Must be willing to submit to a background check, employment verification, and drug screen.
