Job Description
The Chief Inspector shall be sufficiently experienced in rail or facilities construction practices and procedures to perform construction engineering and inspection services as directed by the Project Engineer
Responsiblities include but are not limited to:
Individual must have considerable knowledge of rail and facilities construction practices and procedures as required
Ability to prepare correspondence, reports and recommendations concerning construction issues
Demonstrated ability to deal effectively with others
Provides leadership, coaching, and mentoring to subordinate group.
Ability to establish and maintain project records.
Serves as technical expert in field inspections and audits, recognized as the 'go-to' expert internally and externally
Provides guiding direction for inspections on all assignments.
Sets direction and goals for inspection and team members.
External spokesperson on technical project issues.
Leads the audit strategy for individual's area of expertise.
Key point of contact for engagements and member of AECOM senior leadership team.
Qualifications
Minimum Qualifications:
BA/BS plus 10 years of relevant experience or demonstrated equivalency of experience and/or education, including two years of leadership
Valid US Driver’s License required to visit project sites, clients, and other AECOM offices. As a condition of employment, selected candidate must pass a Motor Vehicle Records review.
Preferred Qualifications:
Experience working with Connecticut Dept. of Transportation (CTDOT)
Experience supervising / managing less experienced inspectors.
Willingness to work flexible schedules as needed for projects, including overnight work.
Certified Construction Manager (CCM) certification, Engineer In Training (EIT), or Professional Engineer (PE) license.
NICET certification (or ability to obtain required level).

Offered compensation will be based on location and individual qualifications. The expected range is $150,000.00 - $185,000.00.
