NYS Diagnostics & Supply Phlebotomist/Lab Assistant in Rockville, Maryland
Responsibilities: - Perform venipuncture and collect blood and urine samples from patients
Follow proper laboratory techniques and protocols to ensure accurate and reliable results
Record and document patient information, including vital signs, medical history, and any relevant observations
Maintain a clean and organized work area, ensuring compliance with infection control and safety protocols
Prepare specimens for transport to the clinical laboratory for analysis
Assist with other laboratory procedures as needed
Skills: - Certification as a Phlebotomist or Medical Assistant preferred - Proficient in venipuncture techniques and blood sampling procedures - Strong knowledge of anatomy, physiology, and medical terminology - Familiarity with laboratory procedures and equipment - Excellent attention to detail and ability to accurately record patient information - Strong communication skills, both verbal and written - Ability to work independently and prioritize tasks effectively
