Northrop Grumman’s Defense Systems sector is currently seeking an Electrician to support our growing business in our Rocket Center, West Virginia location.

Rocket Center, WV is located along the North Branch Potomac River in Mineral County, West Virginia and is home to the Allegany Ballistics Laboratory (ABL), a government installation operated by Northrop Grumman. Pay:

Per the union contact pay for this role is current set at $35.46 and is non-negotiable.

Role description & Responsibilities:

  • Successful candidate will work independently to perform a wide range of electrical tasks.

  • Repair and maintain all industrial plant electrical equipment, including repairing/installing general power/lighting, repairing various industrial machinery (ovens, CNC machines, HVAC’s, fire system controls, fiber placement machines, robot controls, PLC’s, facility management controls, etc.),

  • Repairing 7.2kV/34.5kV distribution lines, repairing boiler controls, and preventive maintenance on all items listed.

  • Candidate must be flexible in accepting additional duties as assigned by supervision

  • Support management strategies and plans, promote safety and health, understand business/production needs and expectations, perform to the highest level of quality, and communicate effectively.

  • Overtime may be required to support operation.

Basic Qualifications:

  • Journeyman electrician license or a 2 year accredited technical school.

  • A High school diploma/GED.

  • The ability to work any shift, union seniority dictates shift preference, will start on an off shift

  • 3-year industrial electrical experience

  • Candidate must have a thorough understanding of electronics including but not limited to:

  • Power devices such as SCR’s, and all types of solid state devices, AC and DC motors and controllers, ladder and relay logic, programmable logic controllers, weigh systems, temperature measurement systems, assorted relay and programmable control systems and refrigeration controls.

  • Candidates must be able to safely work with high voltage (480 VAC and 7200 VAC) power distribution systems.

Preferred Qualifications :

  • Journeyman electrician license with field experience as an electrician.

  • Five years of experience in an industrial or manufacturing setting.
