Plan, organize, direct, control and evaluate the operation of restaurant. Determine the type of services to offer and implement the relevant operating procedures. Establish standards for the performance of staff and customer service, monitor their work and keep the owner of the establishment informed. Estimate the costs of food and beverages. Take inventory and purchase supplies, equipment, and beverages. Monitor gross income and make the pertinent modifications to the procedures and established prices. Meet with employees to define menus and carry out related activities. Supervise the methods used in the preparation of food, the portions served and the presentation of the dishes. Coordinate the washing of the linens, the deep cleaning of the establishment, the disposal of the garbage and the control of pests when necessary. Develop market strategies, implement advertising campaigns, and plan events (promotions in beverages and food, festivals, among others) in order to increase the publics interest in the establishment. Coordinate with clients the food services (catering) or the rental of facilities for holding banquets or receptions. Interview, hire, train, supervise, and sometimes fire employees. Set the working hours of the employees and assign them their tasks, ensuring that the number of workers needed is available for each shift. Promote teamwork, to ensure that customer needs are satisfied. Ensuring that clients are served in an appropriate and timely manner. Work in conjunction with the Executive Chef to resolve any delays in service. Communicate with customers to investigate and solve any complaints that customers have about the quality of the service. Oversee financial transactions. Follow up on the budget to guarantee its efficient administration and that expenses are within the established limits. Prepare and manage payroll. Process the necessary documentation to obtain licenses, permits, payment of taxes, etc. Keep the record of tax returns, financial and payroll balances, in addition to ensuring their\ safeguarding. Verify the reconciliation of each of the transactions carried out through the points of sale, as well as the distribution of the tip among the employees. Coordinate the supply of food, beverages, and other supplies necessary for the operation of the establishment. Ensure compliance with health and food handling standards and legislation, in addition to the policies established by the establishment.
