Position Summary:
The Transportation and Fleet Coordinator is responsible for managing the daily operations of West Marine’s van and car fleet and inbound transportation logistics. This role ensures efficient scheduling, compliance with regulations, proper vehicle maintenance, inbound freight operations, and TMS. The coordinator serves as a key point of contact between drivers, vendors, and internal teams to ensure seamless operations. This role will support all areas of the transportation team.
Primary Responsibilities:
Fleet coordination and tracking – delivery vans and cars
Usage reporting and audits
Program coordination - tolls, fines, maintenance, fuel tracking, etc.
Inbound freight operations
3PL coordination
Vendor/Carrier relations
Future state -TMS planning
DC Freight programs and audits
Education, Experience & Skills :
Minimum education required/preferred, area of study:
Bachelor’s degree or related experience
Minimum years of relevant experience required:
5 years in a retail network environment
Additional skills/knowledge required include:
Background in DC and Freight operations preferred
Strong communication and organizational skills
Strong analytical and administrative skills
Relevant software and technology experience
