MKS Instruments Inc Materials Science Specialist in Rock Hill, South Carolina
A Day in Your Life at MKS:As a Materials Science Specialist at MKS | Atotech, you will partner with all business units to test, and report based on samples received. In this role, you will report to the Senior Applications Manager.You Will Make an Impact By:Performing material science testing of customer samples such as corrosion (NSS, CASS, Cyclic Corrosion, Humidity), S.T.E.P. and Pore count, Cross sectional analysis (SEM/EDAX, Optical Microscope), Hardness, Ductility, and stress. Preparing accurate reports according to department requirements and communicating with other material science groups worldwide to share and learn methods. You will also:• Prioritizing all samples to achieve turnaround time according to established KPIs,• Developing and implementing new analytical methods. Specifying and approving test methods used in lab,• Maintaining lab instrumentation,• Being responsible for the management of all waste in accordance with all company and government regulations,• Cross training on all equipment and training customers and field reps, either in house or at customer locations, as needed• Perform other related duties that may be assigned or associated with the responsibility of the position• Travel Requirements: Up to < 10% of Travel is required.Skills You Bring:• Bachelor’s degree in engineering, Material Science, Metallurgy or related field of study or equivalent experience• Strong working knowledge of Electroplating and Analytical Chemistry• 2+ Years of job-related work experience
