Robert Half Accounting Manager in Rock Hill, South Carolina

Description

We are offering a long-term contract employment opportunity for an Accounting Manager in ROCK HILL, South Carolina. This role involves managing financial activities in a manufacturing environment, including budgeting, forecasting, cost accounting, and financial analysis. The Accounting Manager will also be responsible for ensuring compliance with internal controls and regulations related to manufacturing and finance.

Responsibilities:

• Must have manufacturing cost accounting experience. Develop, monitor, and adjust budgets and forecasts based on actual performance and changing market conditions.

• Analyze financial statements, including balance sheets, income statements, and cash flow statements.

• Understand the financial impact of inventory levels, stock turns, and how to balance working capital with production needs.

• Identify and explain variances between budgeted and actual performance, especially related to production costs and sales.

• Negotiate pricing, terms, and conditions with clients, suppliers, or service providers.

• Utilize financial analysis tools, spreadsheets, and other software used for tracking and reporting financial performance.

• Ensure compliance with internal controls, audits, and regulations related to manufacturing and finance.

• Collaborate closely with other departments, such as production, sales, and procurement, to ensure financial targets are met.

• Lead finance teams, mentor junior staff, and foster a culture of continuous improvement.

• Assist with creating process maps for manufacturing in relation to finance.

Requirements • Hold a minimum of seven years of experience in an accounting management role or similar

• Proficiency in managing accounting functions and accounts receivable (AR)

• Demonstrated experience in auditing and cost accounting, including manufacturing cost accounting and standard cost accounting

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or similar field preferred

• Strong analytical skills and attention to detail

• Excellent communication and leadership abilities

• Proficiency in using accounting software and other relevant computer applications

• Demonstrated ability to work independently as well as part of a team

• Ability to handle sensitive and confidential information responsibly

• Capacity to meet deadlines and work under pressure

• Professional certification such as CPA, CMA, or similar is preferred.
