University of Rochester Supervisor, Grants Management in Rochester, New York

GENERAL PURPOSE:

This position oversees the day to day workings of the Business Office and manage faculty’s grants. These functions are critical to the research operations of the Department.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

The Grants Management Supervisor oversees the day-to-day workings of the Business Office in the Department of Chemistry. The position supervises three accounting staff within the Business Office, setting appropriate standards of performance. Trains accounting staff in utilizing Departmental and University accounting systems. Reviews data and reports created by staff, analyzes what this information means, and takes appropriate action.

With significant independence, the position manages faculty’s grants in the Department, ensuring compliance with all University and Government rules and regulations. Meets with faculty to review their financial status, discussing their future needs and recommending suggested courses of action. Works closely with the Manager of Business Administration in regards to special requests from the Department, Dean, University, and Government, and recommends changes to Departmental procedures as necessary.

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Bachelor's degree in a business related field (i.e. Accounting, finance, etc.) or an equivalent combination of education, experience, and skills required.

  • Bachelor's degree and 2 years of research grant and contract experience required.

  • Previous grants administration experience and program management in higher education required.

Pay Range

Pay Range: $70,197 - $105,295 Annually

The referenced pay range represents the minimum and maximum compensation for this job. Individual annual salaries/hourly rates will be set within the job’s compensation range, and will be determined by considering factors including, but not limited to, market data, education, experience, qualifications, expertise of the individual, and internal equity considerations.
