Avangrid Service Company Senior Director - Process & Systems in Rochester, New York

The base salary range for this position is dependent upon experience and location, ranging from: $172,000 - $237,000

JOB SUMMARY:

The Senior Director, Process & Systems position is responsible for leading a diverse team of more than 30 employees split across our service territory (NY, ME, and CT). The team is composed of internal employees at the levels of Directors, Senior Managers, Managers, Supervisors, Project & Program Managers, Analysts, as well as contractors (third parties). This leadership position is responsible for overseeing the development, implementation, and optimization of mobility processes and systems that support the company's strategic goals.

The team is split into 6 different groups with a wide range of responsibilities, and they are expected to lead these processes across all the Operating Companies. Below is a list of the six groups and the main responsibilities under each one of them:

  • Technical Systems: Lead, plan, coordinate, and control the business IT demand both in the short and long term to provide IT solutions to the business that bring higher levels of process automation, and efficiency and increase business capacity to meet strategic goals.
  • Process Improvement & Standardization: Promote processes and systems standardization across the board through a continuous effort to rationalize the IT applications map.
  • Mobility Solutions & Performance: Support implementation of the field mobility solutions. Execute post audit tracking and reporting of the performance and utilization of the mobility applications.
  • Quality Management: Lead the implementation of a quality management system within Avangrid Networks based on continuous process improvement, with a focus on processes documentation. Lead the implementation of the change management model for Avangrid Networks to help the business implement successful changes in processes and systems, and materialize expected benefits for all the stakeholders, both internal and external.

MAJOR ROLES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
  • Lead, provide guidance, and supervise a team geographically dispersed in Avangrid Networks Territory. Staff with different pay grades (managers, Project Managers, lead Analysts, etc.).
  • Lead the definition of the Avangrid Networks Technical Systems and Applications Roadmap jointly with IT and the various Business Areas and review it periodically to ensure alignment with the Company's strategy.
  • Coordinate and prioritize the Technical Systems demand to support business processes to obtain continuous efficiencies and provide technological solutions that help the business meet its long-term goals.
  • Promote the implementation of technical systems solutions and processes that help improve data quality to better support planning and operations decision processes.
  • Lead the implementation of global models and solutions for technical processes and systems within Avangrid Networks.
  • Promote the development and implementation of standard processes and procedures across Avangrid Networks that contribute to attaining increasing levels of efficiency.
  • Lead the implementation of regular process assessment to ensure compliance with applicable procedures and identify areas for improvement.
  • Define business requirements for technical systems.
  • Support deployment, implementation, and training of the mobility tools.
  • Monitor usage of mobility systems.
  • Perform SAP security and access provisioning.
  • Support and lead the execution of Critical projects involving technical systems.
  • Lead, develop, implement, and oversee Quality Management Systems within Avangrid Networks.
  • Lead the integration of the Quality Management approach in the way the Networks business manages its processes.
  • Develop and execute strategies to enhance operational efficiency and effectiveness across the organization.
  • Lead initiatives to identify, analyze, and improve existing processes to increase productivity, reduce costs, and enhance service quality.
  • Oversee the implementation of mobility systems and technologies that support business operations.
  • Manage and mentor a team of process and systems professionals, fostering a culture of continuous improvement and innovation.
  • Work closely with cross-functional teams, in Corporate and Networks areas, to ensure alignment and integration of processes and systems.
  • Establish and monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) to track progress and drive accountability.
  • Ensure all processes and systems comply with industry regulations and standards.
  • Lead change management efforts to ensure smooth adoption of new processes and systems across the organization.

POSITION REQUIREMENTS:

Required Education:
  • Bachelors/Engineering degree in a related business or technical field.
  • MBA preferred.
  • 10+ years' experience; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Previous experience in people management.

Required Experience:
  • Experience in the utility sector is preferred.
  • Languages: English. Spanish preferred.
