In support of PPCWNY’s mission, the RESTORE Therapist provides crisis intervention, short-term counseling, advocacy, and referral services to survivors of sexual assault. The home office for this position is mainly in Rochester but also requires travel to all five counties to provide services.
Essential Functions
70% Provides crisis intervention and therapy to primary and secondary victims of sexual assault in person, virtually, or by telephone carrying a case load of up to but not limited to 25 clients
20% Helps coordinate and facilitate ongoing support groups for adults and children
5% Ensures proper documentation for client records according to funder requirements
5% Provides referral information and support to clients, other professionals, and appropriate community agencies
Other Accountability Activities
Stays current on best practices by attending relevant educational conferences and seminars
Participates and helps facilitate weekly case review with counselors and therapists
Assists in the coverage of clients when advocate positions are vacant
Perform all other duties as assigned by supervisor for the purpose of ensuring the efficient and effective functioning of the department
Participates in affiliate initiatives and represent PPCWNY in a professional manner within appropriate forums, coalitions, etc., and uses those opportunities to increase participation in PPCWNY programs and to further agency goals
Shows respect to all internal and external customers for differences in backgrounds, lifestyles, viewpoints and needs in areas such as race, gender, ethnicity, creed, sexual orientation, and others
Requirements
Applicants must possess the following qualifications (or equivalent combination of education and experience):
Education—
Master’s degree in Human Services, Social Work, Psychology, Counseling Health Education, or a related field required
NYS Certification as a Licensed Clinical Social Worker preferred
NYS Licensed Master of Social Work or comparable credential required
Experience—
Three years’ experience in human services or related field preferred
Two years specific experience in providing sexual assault services preferred
One year experience working with children and teens preferred
Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities—
Must successfully complete the sexual assault advocacy program training during the first two months of onboarding
Must have reliable transportation and a valid driver’s license not in jeopardy of being revoked
Advanced knowledge of trauma and clinical treatment of trauma in children and adults
Demonstrated knowledge of sexual violence, domestic violence and stalking dynamics and effects, public awareness, and crisis intervention services
Ability to develop and maintain positive relationships with individuals, families and staff at all levels is critical
Collaborative and interpersonal skills are essential to perform effectively in various team environments
Professional verbal and written communication skills
Excellent skills in assessing levels of emotional distress and reacting appropriately

Benefits & CompensationAt PPCWNY, we are committed to equitable compensation practices and transparency. In alignment with these efforts, this position's pay ranges between $25.64 and $31.34/hour. Actual compensation will be determined by experience and other factors permitted by law.
