Job Responsibilities:
The position is to be supported entirely by an external research grant that requires a strong commitment to top competitive research in the areas of numerical relativity with applications to gravitational wave detection and parameter estimation as well as astrophysics under the supervision of its Principal Investigator. In particular the supercomputer simulations of binary black hole mergers in connection with LIGO and LISA observatories. An important component of the distribution of this research is the maintenance of the numerical waveforms catalog at CCRG and the publication of the results in the most relevant journals in the field. It is also important to provide specific help to PhD and MS students in the Mathematical Modeling and AST programs at COS/RIT during their thesis research work. A small fraction of the time maybe required to organize presentations or sessions of research at CCRG or provide support to its director.
