University of Rochester Physician Support Coord IV in Rochester, New York
GENERAL PURPOSE:
The Physician Support Coordinator IV oversees and directs the Physician Support Specialist (PSS). Assigns and directs work and provides guidance to PSS. Assigns and coordinates new requests for child mental health services daily for PSS. Ensures effective and efficient communication and support within the Intake Team and with the clinicians. Manages and routes referrals from the referral work queue. Schedules appointments for new patients accepted into multiple different tracks in the service. Performs quality assurance monitoring particularly for scheduling errors and communicates to staff and manager. Performs duties of PSS as required particularly for more complex requests. Coordinates urgent and emergent tasks. Acts as a subject matter expert related to physician support job duties, divisional scheduling guidelines, and clinic management processes. Consistently and regularly identifies areas of improvement and demonstrates and models ICARE values.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
Coordinates and tracks new requests for child mental health services; communicates to clinicians regarding newly assignedpatients
Preparesfor,andparticipatesin,twiceweeklyIntakeTeammeetings,aswellas individualsupervision
Works collaboratively with, and covers for, other Intake Teammembers
Handles patient complaints and inquiries regarding intake issues, including correspondence;assuresthatpatientsaregivenprompt,courteousattentionby telephone, letter and/orMyChart
Provider calendar management; template management and scheduling ofpatients
WorkscollaborativelywithCoordinatorregardingschedulesandassignmentsofPhysician SupportSpecialists(PSS)toensureeffectiveandefficientcommunicationandsupportto clinicians.
Schedules new patient visits
Implements and monitors procedures to enhance levels of service and quality. Develops guidelines for prioritizing and assigning work activities, evaluating effectiveness, and modifying processes as necessary. Performs qualityassurance monitoring for activities completed in area of immediate responsibility(including scheduling errors) as well as other areas that affect it
Serves as a focal point for answering complex questions or issues related to PSS job duties, assists in problem identification, quantification, and resolution. Provides training on all aspects of PSS roles. Works with Administrator to develop and revise division specific documents and materials such as training material, standard work documents, policies, and procedures whereneeded.
Conducts intake phone screens with potential patient/families. Documents ineRecord patientcharts.

QUALIFICATIONS:
High School Diploma or equivalent required.
2 years relevant experience required.
1-year leadershipexperience preferred.
Experiences with surgical/appointment scheduling software and electronic medical records required.
Demonstrated customer service skills preferred.
Medical Terminology preferred.
Proficient computer experience (with programs such as Excel) preferred.
Excellent organizational skills preferred.
Excellent oral and written communication skills preferred.
Excellent attention to details preferred.

Pay Range
Pay Range: $20.31 - $27.42 Hourly
The referenced pay range represents the minimum and maximum compensation for this job. Individual annual salaries/hourly rates will be set within the job¿s compensation range, and will be determined by considering factors including, but not limited to, market data, education, experience, qualifications, expertise of the individual, and internal equity considerations.
