Heritage Christian Services Personal Trainer in Rochester, New York
Overview
The personal trainer will provide Pieters Family Life Center clients with health and wellness education including but not limited to personal training services, fitness orientations and group classes. The personal trainer is responsible for demonstrating competency in the design and oversight of exercise programs and supporting specific client needs due to disability, age, emotional well-being or fitness level. Working under the direction of the Pieters Family Life Center Director, the Personal Trainer will assist in the development and implementation of strategies to meet the Pieters Family Life Center’s financial goals and program objectives while supporting the mission, vision and values of Heritage Christian Services, Inc.
Pay rate for this position: $21.00 / hour
The salary of the finalist selected for this role will be set based on a variety of factors, including but not limited to departmental budgets, qualifications, experience, education, licenses, specialty, and training. The above range represents the organization's good faith and reasonable estimate of the range of possible compensation at the time of posting
Responsibilities
Instruct participants on effective workout methods; explain proper techniques; demonstrate exercises and provide support to clients in identifying and working towards their health and wellness goals.
Monitor clients and assess for appropriate response to exercise.
Help develop appropriate home exercises for clients and educational tools for their circles of support to maintain activity outside of the Pieters Family Life Center.
Plans and provides fitness orientations
Instruct group exercise classes
Market fitness services and actively recruit new clients.
Follow billing and reimbursement procedures, take responsibility for administrative duties such as scheduling and fee collection at point of service as necessary.
Ensure a well-kept, clean and safe fitness environment by implementing daily, weekly and monthly cleaning procedures. Alert appropriate staff and vendors for the maintenance of equipment.
Responsible for revenue generating activity, monitoring earned revenue to meet monthly revenue goals.
Maintain professional growth and development through attendance in Heritage Christian Services educational opportunities and industry specific seminars, workshops, conferences or in-services.

Qualifications
At least two years’ experience planning, presenting and evaluating personal training services
Current certification in personal training or group exercise instruction by ACSM, NSCA, ACE, NASM or other nationally recognized organization
American Red Cross CPR/AED/First Aid
Experience in working with individuals with intellectual disabilities, chronic health conditions or low fitness levels preferred
Minimum High School Diploma required; or equivalency of three years of education and three years of personal trainer experience
