Robert Half Payroll/Benefits Coordinator in Rochester, New York

Description

Hannah Savage with Robert Half is working with an amazing organization in the non-profit sector who strives to make a positive impact in our community! Seeking a dedicated Payroll/Benefits Coordinator to join the team and support their mission. The Payroll/Benefits Coordinator will be responsible for managing all aspects of payroll processing, benefits administration, employee onboarding, and other HR-related tasks as needed. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in payroll and benefits administration, with experience using Paychex software being a significant advantage.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Process bi-weekly payroll accurately and on time using Paychex software.

  • Administer employee benefits programs, including health insurance, retirement plans, and other organizational benefits.

  • Coordinate the onboarding process for new hires, including preparation of offer letters, new hire orientation, and completion of necessary paperwork.

  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date employee records and HR files.

  • Assist with employee relations issues and provide support for HR policies and procedures.

  • Generate payroll and HR reports as required.

  • Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local payroll, wage, and hour laws and best practices.

  • Support the HR team with various administrative tasks and special projects as needed.

Requirements

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field preferred.

  • Minimum of 2-3 years of experience in payroll and benefits administration.

  • Proficiency in using Paychex software is highly preferred.

  • Strong understanding of payroll practices, benefits administration, and relevant employment laws.

  • Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.

  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills.

  • Ability to handle sensitive and confidential information with discretion.

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook).

  • Non-profit industry experience a plus
