Job Description: As a Payroll Clerk at Robert Half, you will be responsible for assisting in the accurate and timely processing of payroll for our clients. You will handle a variety of tasks related to employee compensation, ensuring that payroll activities comply with company policies and legal requirements. This role offers a great opportunity to work with a diverse range of clients and industries, enhancing your expertise in payroll administration.

Responsibilities:

• Collect and verify timesheets, ensuring accurate calculation of hours worked

• Enter and maintain employee payroll data, including new hires, terminations, and changes in payroll information

• Process payroll in accordance with company policies and applicable laws, ensuring timely and accurate payment

• Calculate payroll deductions, such as taxes, benefits, and other withholdings

• Assist with the preparation and distribution of payroll checks or direct deposits

• Reconcile payroll accounts and resolve any discrepancies or issues

• Prepare and distribute payroll reports and summaries to management and clients

• Respond to payroll-related inquiries from employees and clients, providing excellent customer service

• Assist with the preparation of payroll tax filings and compliance with federal, state, and local regulations

• Maintain payroll records and documentation in an organized and secure manner

• Support year-end payroll activities, including W-2 preparation and distribution

  Requirements

Requirements:

• High school diploma or equivalent; associate or bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance, or related field preferred

• 1-3 years of experience in payroll processing or related role

• Proficiency in payroll software (e.g., ADP, Paychex, QuickBooks) and Microsoft Office suite, particularly Excel

• Strong understanding of payroll principles, practices, and regulations

• Excellent attention to detail and accuracy in data entry and calculations

• Ability to manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment

• Effective communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to interact with employees at all levels

• Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to handle sensitive information confidentially
