Description

Olivia Quinlan from Robert Half is hiring for a Production Control Analyst who specializes in batch scheduling in Rochester, New York.

• Ensure critical scheduled tasks (batch jobs) run successfully every day.

• Fix failures quickly to avoid business disruptions.

• Set up and maintain schedules in automation tools.

• Plan and schedule off-hours production requests (tasks that run outside normal business hours).

• Work with IT teams to investigate failures and resolve issues.

• Identify patterns in failures and create solutions to prevent them in the future.

• Understand and work with Windows, UNIX, and basic scripting (bash/batch).

• Ensure that business-critical systems like SAP and ERP are properly integrated with automation tools.

• Schedule and execute SAP transports (moving data or configuration between SAP environments).

• Maintain records of system changes for audits.

• Keep track of system schedules and batch parameters (rules that determine when and how tasks run).

• Help plan and test backup procedures in case of system failures.

• Continuously improve processes to reduce job failures and enhance efficiency.

  Requirements

· Ensure critical batch metrics are met nightly.

· Schedule off-hours production requests and maintain schedule information.

· Utilize appropriate software tools to enhance system performance and monitor the production batch environment.

· Assist in developing and ensuring adherence to Production Support standards and procedures.

· Work independently on assigned projects related to Production Support.

· Provide technical assistance to applications and computer operations areas.

· Troubleshoot scheduling tool outages with other IT teams, understanding the tool’s architecture.

· Work with complex job streams or workflows and identify problems within them.

· Work with Windows, UNIX, and have basic scripting knowledge (bash or batch).

· Integrate automation tools with business applications such as SAP and ERP.

· Schedule and or execute the SAP transports.

· Understand compliance and audit requirements and maintain necessary documentation.

· Respond to queries and document new and existing implementations.

· Implement changes related to report distribution software.

· Continuously improve processes by minimizing job failures or finding more effective solutions.

This is a dayshift position from 6:30am-3:30pm, with SOME overnights as necessary.
