Description

The Member Service Representaitve position starts at $21.50 per hour and is eligible for a quarterly incentive.

The member service center representative will assist members and potential members with their requests via phone; explains services, responds to problems, and directs phone calls to the appropriate area. They will serve the financial needs of members professionally, efficiently, and accurately while maintaining member confidentiality. In addition, develop member relationships and retention of business, while actively promoting and cross-selling credit union products and services.

Essential Function & Responsibilities:

  • Assists members and potential members with their telephone requests; answers questions about

products and services and resolves problems that are within their authority to resolve; refersproblems that are beyond their authority to their supervisor, along with their recommendations.

  • Maintain knowledge of procedures for the loan application process, necessary documents for

consumer loans, and the loan funding process for Visa and Personal Loans. Able to use thisknowledge to efficiently coach members through our remote application/funding process.

  • Look for and identify cross-sell opportunities. Propose identified cross-sell opportunities to

members and work to retain business.

  • Overflows other departments or branches upon request.

Position Requirements

Six months to two years of similar or related experience. A high school education or GED is required. A significant level of trust and diplomacy is required, in addition to normal courtesy and tact. Work involves extensive personal contact with others and/or is usually of a personal or sensitive nature. Work may involve motivating or influencing others. Outside contacts become important and fostering sound relationships with other entities (companies and/or individuals) becomes necessary. Good listening and telephone skills; able to operate a 10-key calculator and computer keyboard. Able to make decisions with minimum information.
