University of Rochester Inpatient Infectious Diseases (ID) - Nurse Practitioner/Physician Assistant in Rochester, New York

Responsibilities

Join our inpatient Infectious Disease Clinical Service on the ID LVAD APP Team. The inpatient ID APP will work primarily in collaboration with Infectious Disease APPs and physicians to manage a variety of infectious disease clinical issues in the inpatient setting on the ID LVAD APP Team. The APP will work collaboratively with ID physicians, fellows, and pharmacists as needed. The ideal candidate must be able to work both independently and as part of a team. The APP will participate in consultative care and management of inpatients with infectious disease problems with a primary focus on ID LVAD service. Care is multidisciplinary and involves close communication and cooperation with primary hospital teams and various hospital specialists. The APP should be able to work autonomously, but this position also requires excellent triage skills to identify when to escalate care and closely collaborate with specialty trained Infectious Disease attendings at all stages of care (initial evaluation, follow-ups, and consults). The APP will also participate in clinical regular conferences and division sponsored professional practice (journal clubs, case conference, etc).

Qualifications

Nurse Practitioner

Require a Master’s degree (or pending) as a Nurse Practitioner, an active New York State Registered Nurse license in good standing, an active/pending New York State Nurse Practitioner licensure in good standing and current/pending national certification as an Nurse Practitioner.

Physician Assistant

Requires completion (or pending) of an ARC-PA approved Physician Assistant program, an active/pending New York State Physician Assistant licensure in good standing and current/pending national certification as a Physician Assistant by the NCCPA ( National Commission on Certification of Physician Assistants)

NPs and PAs will demonstrate clinical competence, superior verbal and written communication skills, interpersonal effectiveness and customer relations skills, computer competence and must have an active desire to learn. The APP will participate in the education of learners (students and new employees), using clinical learning experiences, knowledge sharing and skill training.

Pay Range

Pay Range: $44.71 - $67.07

The referenced pay range represents the minimum and maximum annual salary for this faculty position. Individual salaries will be determined within the job’s salary range, and will be determined by considering factors including, but not limited to, market data, education, experience, qualifications, expertise of the individual, and internal equity considerations. Incentive-based compensation may also be applicable and will be discussed during the hiring process.
