Position: Facilities/Maintenance Pay Rate: $16 per hour- part-time evenings and weekends required 25-30 hours per week

Accountability: This position reports to the Facilities & Maintenance Manager (F&MM). In the Facilities & Maintenance Managers absence, the Facilities/Maintenance person reports to the HR/Finance Manager. The Facilities/Maintenance person informs the F&MM of maintenance and repair concerns and makes recommendations to the F&MM regarding improvements to building and grounds maintenance operations. This position receives direction from and is supervised by the F&MM, and performs tasks assigned by the F&MM.

Basic Function: Maintains buildings, grounds, equipment and furnishings owned by Third Presbyterian Church so that they are preserved and maintained in good operating order, and they are safe, attractive and convenient to use for church members, their guests and staff.

Essential Functions: Security Services: Opening and closing buildings, building access control, parking lot security, escorting staff and visitors to their cars as required. Activating and deactivating the building alarm system. Third in line to respond to after-hours building security and fire alarms as directed. Meeting Room(s) Set Up Services: Arranging seating arrangements, providing special equipment requests (audio, visual, sound system, etc.). Providing beverages when requested (tea, coffee, water, lemonade, punch). Housekeeping Services: Floor vacuuming, mopping, carpet cleaning, wall cleaning, equipment and furniture cleaning, bathroom cleaning, trash removal, etc. The sexton informs the Lead Sexton when building-related equipment, materials and supplies need to be purchased. GroundsMaintenance Services: Lawn care, shrub and garden maintenance, snow removal, grounds policing, etc. Building Maintenance Services: Minor repairs in keeping with experience and training (painting, equipment maintenance, light bulb replacement, toilet and plumbing repairs, etc.). Congregational, Staff and Visitor Services: Assist and perform tasks as requested. Performs stationary engineer operating and maintenance services on boiler equipment. Operates computerized heating system. Other Duties as Assigned
