Responsibilities

Position available for NP/PA to work in the Adult Emergency Department, rotating between regional sites, including but not limited to: St. James, Noyes, and Jones Memorial Hospital. In this role, NP/PAs provide initial care in triage, urgent care and acute care for patients in a fast-paced Emergency Departments, with expanding number of patient visits per year. The NP/PA will evaluate patients, provide appropriate intervention, monitoring and disposition. Excellent communication and teamwork required. New graduates may be considered; the APP will be working on all occasions with Emergency Medicine physician(s). APPs are active participants in education of our medical, advance practice, and nursing learners and are committed to the academic mission of UR Medicine.

Qualifications

Nurse Practitioner

Require a Master’s degree (or pending) as a Nurse Practitioner, an active New York State Registered Nurse license in good standing, an active/pending New York State Nurse Practitioner licensure in good standing and current/pending national certification as an Nurse Practitioner.

Physician Assistant

Requires completion (or pending) of an ARC-PA approved Physician Assistant program, an active/pending New York State Physician Assistant licensure in good standing and current/pending national certification as a Physician Assistant by the NCCPA ( National Commission on Certification of Physician Assistants)

NPs and PAs will demonstrate clinical competence, superior verbal and written communication skills, interpersonal effectiveness and customer relations skills, computer competence and must have an active desire to learn. The APP will participate in the education of learners (students and new employees), using clinical learning experiences, knowledge sharing and skill training.

Pay Range

Pay Range: $47.12-$65.97

The referenced pay range represents the minimum and maximum annual salary for this faculty position. Individual salaries will be determined within the job’s salary range, and will be determined by considering factors including, but not limited to, market data, education, experience, qualifications, expertise of the individual, and internal equity considerations. Incentive-based compensation may also be applicable and will be discussed during the hiring process.
