$62,000-$67,000 per year plus generous benefits!

Under the direction of the Chief Development Officer, the Director of Annual Campaign Strategies will lead multi-channel renewal solicitation, retention, and donor acquisition for the YMCA of Greater Rochester. The Director will be successful when the overall donor count, donor retention, and new donors grow year-over-year and will be part of a team that meets overall annual fundraising goals that will help deliver on the YMCA’s new strategic plan. Coordinating efforts for diverse audiences across all YMCA locations and services, the Director is the key leader tasked with developing cohesive strategies to grow and maintain the base of the donor pyramid and develop a robust prospect pipeline for annual and capital giving. The Director will ensure that members, participants, and the community at-large understand the need for support and are given extensive opportunities to support the Y’s mission. The position is responsible for demonstrating YMCA leadership competencies to ensure the mission, purpose, image and core values of the YMCA of Greater Rochester are conveyed.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

• Develop and implement Association-wide strategies to grow and maintain the base of the annual giving pyramid.

• Utilize data-driven approaches in partnership with the YMCA Experience Team to develop targeted and effective solicitation and retention.

• Create and execute robust donor communications (including case, solicitation, and retention materials) that engage diverse constituencies possessing limited understanding of the YMCA and its mission.

• Develop and maintain detailed procedures to encourage staff and volunteers in fundraising activities.

Communicate the Y’s philanthropic cause to audiences across the community in verbal, written, and electronic communications.

• Develop and execute donor acquisition plans.

• Partner with the Director of Leadership Annual Gifts to grow and maintain major gift pipeline and to coordinate messaging.

• Attend all meetings, training and events as required.

Requirements

• Associate degree required; bachelor’s degree preferred. Proven experience (5+ years) in annual giving or non-profit (including higher-ed) marketing or similar experience.

• Exceptional communication skills, with specific expertise in written communication.

• Experience in multi-channel annual giving solicitation.

• Experience utilizing data to drive results.

• Understand cutting edge and well-established traditional methods for donor solicitation, acquisition, and retention, including modern technologies.

• Excellent team builder and team player; ability to work self-directed.

• Highly attentive to detail with the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.

• Embodiment of the YMCA’s core values consistent with the mission of the YMCA.

• Experience with Raiser’s Edge preferred.

• Must have a personal vehicle and the ability to travel within the service on a consistent basis

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:

• Must be able to stand or sit for the duration of the shift.

• Must be able to bend and stoop occasionally.

• Must be able to lift at least 25 pounds occasionally.

• Must be able to travel from location to location.
