The referenced pay range represents the minimum and maximum compensation for this job. Individual annual salaries/hourly rates will be set within the job's compensation range, and will be determined by considering factors including, but not limited to, market data, education, experience, qualifications, expertise of the individual, and internal equity considerations.
Responsibilities:
The Department Coordinator IV provides administrative support within a department, in addition to serving as the principal assistant to Senior Director(s), Director(s), Associate Director(s), or other leadership roles. Responsible for performing a variety of advanced, complex assignments including department accounts working with minimal direction under their own initiative and latitude for independent judgment. Provides work leadership to other support staff. This position deals with highly confidential information and must be able to work with limited supervision and exercise independent judgment.
Responsibilities
GENERAL PURPOSE:
The Department Coordinator is pivotal in driving strategic initiatives, liaising with senior stakeholders, and ensuring seamless operations within the Network Health and Prevention Programs. This role requires both strategic decision-making capabilities and administrative efficiency, with a focus on leading key projects and initiatives. The position is part-time but eligible for full-time benefits per the University of Rochester's policy.

Operates with significant autonomy, making decisions that have a direct impact on the department's success.
Plays a key role in shaping the department's long-term strategy and objectives.
Engages in high-level problem-solving, integrating and interpreting data from diverse sources to find solutions to complex challenges.
JOB DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Strategic Involvement: Participate in strategic planning sessions, provide insights based on data analysis, and contribute to the formulation of departmental strategies.
Leadership & Liaison: Act as a liaison between the Director and other departments, ensuring effective communication and alignment on key initiatives.
Project Management: Lead and oversee key projects, ensuring timely completion and alignment with the department's objectives.
Report & Presentation Preparation: Assist in the preparation of reports and presentations, ensuring accuracy and adherence to deadlines.
Travel Coordination: Coordinate travel for Directors and, as assigned, team members, ensuring efficient processes are in place.
Executive Support and Special Projects: Provide high-level administrative support to the Director and Deputy Director, including as requested, managing calendars, prioritizing tasks, and overseeing email communication. Serve, when requested, as a delegate in the Director's and
Deputy Director's inboxes, using judgment and discretion to respond to or escalate email messages and requests as appropriate.
QUALIFICATIONS:
Associate's degree and 3 years of progressively responsible experience in administrative support required.
Or equivalent combination of education and experience required.
Past experience in both academia and industry is preferred.
Strong knowledge of university medical center structures and processes preferred.
High proficiency in office software, including word processing, spreadsheets, and presentation software required.
Exceptional organizational and time management skills required.
Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal required.
Ability to handle sensitive and confidential information with discretion.
Experience in project management would be an advantage preferred.
Ability to handle sensitive information in a confidential manner is a must.
