Compensation Range:

The referenced pay range represents the minimum and maximum compensation for this job. Individual annual salaries/hourly rates will be set within the job's compensation range, and will be determined by considering factors including, but not limited to, market data, education, experience, qualifications, expertise of the individual, and internal equity considerations.

With minimum direction and considerable latitude for independent judgment, performs all routine and non-routine Dental Treatment Plan Coordinator and administrative duties requiring highly advanced customer service skills. Responsible for considerable departmental administrative details requiring extensive knowledge and experience with EIOH policies, procedures, and practices. Responsible for assigning and reviewing daily clerical operations while performing Dental Treatment Plan Coordinator functions. Trains new employees and monitors quality and quantity of work performed in the department. Provides daily direction and support to Administrative support staff. Assigns and checks work. Assists supervisor in preparing performance evaluation data. Trains new employees and monitors quality and quantity of work performed in the department. Provides daily direction and support to Administrative support staff. Assigns and checks work. Assists supervisor in preparing performance evaluation data. Assumes functions of supervisor in her/his absence. JOB DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: - Coordinates the activities of the area. Trains new employees and cross-trains employees within the area. Acts as the primary preceptor for new staff (training, onboarding, monitoring training/competencies). - Provides daily direction and assistance to Administrative support staff. Assigns and checks work. Assists supervisor in preparing performance evaluation data. Assumes functions of supervisor in her/his absence. - Performs quality assurance monitoring (including scheduling and registration errors) as well as other areas that affect it; using specific criteria, measures quality, quantity, and timeliness of tasks performed; prepares related logs and management reports. - Assists in the development of goals and objectives for the area. Writes new procedures and training materials; updates existing procedures as needed. - Exercising tact, initiative and independent judgment makes decision using approved Dentistry procedures regarding security of complex, high dollar, dental accounts. Ensures accuracy of patient schedules. Reviews provider schedules to ensure maximum utilization. - Negotiates down-payments and authorizes repayment status for high dollar, complex patient plans in accordance with Dentistry policies and guidelines. Reviews appointment history and upcoming payment obligations to initiate patient contact for payment due reminders. - Communicates treatment information to Billing personnel for timely submission of pretreatment estimates and insurance approvals. Acts as a resource to patients and care providers of Medicaid approval process and other 3rd party billing issues. - Collaborates with all members of the dental care team to facilitate superior communication with the patient for best treatment outcomes. - Maintains good working relationship with other Dentistry care providers, Billing and front line staff in order to coordinate referrals and other treatments relevant to the patient' s overall dental treatment plan. - Serves as primary contact to Billing personnel, care provider and/or Administrator to resolve patient concerns. - Performs check-in and check-out procedures. Processes payment. - Contact referred patients, registers and schedules New Patient Referral appointments. - Maintains knowledge of New York State & local policies, regulations and procedures related to compliance requirements. - Responsible for Insurance Preauthorization - Initiates insurance referral, verification, and/or service authorization in advance of treatment through review of dental insurance benefits and requirements. - Performs other duties for supervisor as directed including working on special projects and working with other support staff on special projects. Monitors accurate time reporting procedures. QUALIFICATIONS: - High School Diploma required - Two years of experience required - Or equivalent combination of education, training and experience required - Dental Experience preferred - Strong customer service skills (via telephone and in person) required - Ability to communicate effectively and professionally required. - Ability to work well in a fast-paced environment required. - Ability to work with a diverse patient and provider population required.
