Job Responsibilities:

The coordinator will have the following duties:

  • Assist the Director and Associate Director in the day-to-day operations of the Athletic Communications department.

  • Produce consistent fresh and innovative content across RIT's Athletic social media platforms, including Instagram, Twitter and Facebook.

  • Serve as the primary contact for multiple sports as assigned.

  • Help maintain www.ritathletics.com on a daily basis, including rosters, schedules and archival information.

  • Generate ideas and produce feature stories as assigned to promote the RIT student-athlete experience to the campus community, as well as on the local, regional and national levels.

  • Provide appropriate game day coverage for all contests, home and away.

Required Qualifications:

Candidates will receive consideration based on the following:

  • A bachelor's degree in a related field OR equivalent experience.

  • Previous experience working in either an Athletic Communications/Sports Information office or in a multimedia field.

  • Experience driving effective social media strategies.

  • Strong oral and written communication skills.

  • Proficiency with desktop publishing programs, including Adobe InDesign and Photoshop.

  • Experience with the latest industry standard scorekeeping software platforms, including NCAA Live Stats and Statcrew.

Job Summary:

Rochester Institute of Technology, located in Rochester, N.Y., is seeking applicants for the position of Coordinator of Athletics Communication. The RIT Office of Athletic Communications is responsible for coordinating the publicity and promotion of the department's 24 intercollegiate athletic teams, including two Division I (men's and women's ice hockey) and 22 Division III programs, as well as over 650 student-athletes, coaches and administrators.

The Athletic Communications office maintains www.ritathletics.com , tracks all statistical data and records, coordinates game day coverage for home and road contests, and manages social media for the department.

The coordinator will be expected to work 25-50 hours per week over a nine month period , depending on athletic contest coverage, while providing a strong social media presence for the department throughout the academic year.

Please note: Travel with specific teams is also projected as assigned.
