Encorus Group Engineering Construction Materials Testing Technician in Rochester, New York
Encorus Group is currently seeking full-time Construction Materials Testing Technicians to join our team. We have current openings in our West Seneca, NY and Rochester, NY offices.As a Construction Materials Testing Technician, you will be responsible for testing and inspecting various construction materials such as concrete, soils, asphalt, and masonry, both on-site and within Encorus Group's accredited testing facility.This position also assists the NDE Inspectors with testing and inspection of equipment in the field and laboratory as directed and for the maintenance of the equipment and facilities utilized to perform that testing. Responsibilities:Conduct field inspections at construction sites to ensure compliance with project requirements.Test physical properties of materials like concrete, soil, and asphalt.Examine test samples, interpret blueprints, schematics, and measuring instruments.Evaluate and review test and construction data with supervisors, reporting findings to engineers and other laboratory personnel.Collect soil and construction material samples in the field; perform laboratory testing as required.Set up and adapt test equipment based on data sheets and instructions from engineering department personnel.Perform various tests on construction materials using advanced materials-testing equipment.Inspect asphalt and concrete batch plants, ensuring compliance with specifications.Record and report test results, performing necessary mathematical calculation.Utilize computer software including tablets, computers and cell phones for documentation and communication purposes.Maintain accurate records of testing procedures, results, and equipment calibration.Assist with Senior NDE inspectors with inspections on an as needed basis.Qualifications:High School Diploma or GED.Ability to obtain certifications from ACI, NICET, ICC, and AWS, and maintain them as directed by the company.Valid driver’s license and ability to drive for sample collection, field tests, and inspections. Ability to comply with company drug screening, including pre-employment tests. Ability to perform job functions with personal protective equipment, and adverse weather conditions and to climb ladders to access equipment at heights.Preferred Qualifications:Prior construction experienceCurrent certifications from the ACI, NICET, ICC, and AWS organizations.
Minimum Salary: 18 Maximum Salary: 25 Salary Unit: Hourly
