We are currently seeking a Civil Engineer/Renewable Energy Professional for our Rochester, New York or Syracuse, New York offices. The ideal candidate is self-motivated with 5 to 8 years of engineering experience, including construction oversight, stormwater management plans, civil engineering design (including grading analyses), permitting, and project management. The candidate must have prior ground-mounted solar engineering experience.
Your Role:
Engineering design for renewable energy and other projects.
Construction monitoring support.
Client communications.
Report writing.
Coordinating with multidisciplinary consulting teams
Qualifications:
Minimum of a Bachelor of Science in civil engineering
5-8 years of professional experience
Experience with renewable energy projects is preferred.
Experience with the site plan and zoning approval processes for renewable projects at the municipal level is preferred.
Experience with the erosion and sediment control plan approval process for renewable projects through county and state regulatory processes.
Understanding of surface water quality, stormwater quality, and stormwater management in construction and post-construction settings, hydrology and hydraulic analysis, and applicable rules and regulations
Experience with the design of stormwater management systems, including hydrologic and hydraulic modeling.
Working knowledge of civil and environmental engineering principles, including grading, site layout, wetland impacts, entrances, traffic, utilities, etc.
Engineer in Training (EIT) or Professional Engineer (PE) in civil engineering is preferred.
Working knowledge of industry-standard computer software for the position (e.g., HEC-RAS, HydroCAD, ArcGIS, BlueBeam, etc.)
Proficient with AutoCAD Civil 3D, including corridors, pipe networks, and grading, is required.
Ability to work well independently and with project managers.
Excellent analytical and organizational skills
Excellent communication skills and ability to work well in a team setting.
40-hour HAZWOPER certification is a plus
A pre-employment drug screen in compliance with federal regulations is required, along with a physical if needed.
Must possess a valid driver's license with a clean driving record without restrictions.
Compensation:
Salary commensurate with experience.
Salary Range: $80, 000 - $105, 000 yr.
Pay Range - There are multiple factors that are considered in determining final pay for a position, including, but not limited to, relevant work experience and demonstrated work experience in the above role; skills, certifications, and competencies that align to the specified role; geographic location; and education, as well as contract provisions regarding labor categories that are specific to the position.
