University of Rochester Cancer Center - QA/QI Patient Outcomes Coord in Rochester, New York

Responsibilities

The QA/QI Patient Outcomes Coordinator provides leadership in planning, implementing, evaluating, and managing Cancer Center initiatives related to patient safety and clinical quality. This role encompasses both local leadership and strategic implementation according to hospital and cancer center standards and guidelines. The coordinator supports ongoing quality improvement activities, including medication safety, nurse-sensitive indicators, and hospital scorecard initiatives. Managing and overseeing performance improvement team efforts aligned with Patient Care Services’ strategic goals is a key responsibility. Additionally, the coordinator will develop and maintain relationships across various settings, disciplines, and service lines to maximize project management and support. Fifty percent of this role is dedicated to data analysis, performance metrics tracking, and continuous evaluation. The coordinator will facilitate plan integration with stakeholders, clinical specialty groups, and leadership to achieve strategic plans. Advocating and supporting clinical practice, standards of care, and regulatory compliance is also essential. The coordinator will serve as a liaison between the Pharmacy and Therapeutics Committee/Medication Error Reduction Team, the Nursing Informatics Advisory Council, and the Nursing Practice Quality & Safety Committee. Supporting local patient education and unit-based activities to drive improvements, leading performance improvement projects related to clinical quality and safety, and preventing falls, pressure ulcers, urinary tract infections, CLABSI, and C-diff are also part of the role. The ideal candidate demonstrates strong project and team leadership skills, excellent organizational and communication abilities, solid analytical skills, and familiarity with data analysis and performance improvement tools and techniques. A minimum of five years of relevant clinical experience, including project management, process improvement, and patient safety, is required. Candidates must hold a Bachelor’s Degree in Nursing and a Master’s Degree.

Qualifications

Master's Degree in Nursing or Healthcare related field required. Three years of RN experience in acute care setting required or equivalent combination of education and experience. Recent clinical educational expertise in a specialty area required. Registered Nurse with current New York State license required. Certification in specialty area preferred.

Pay Range

Pay Range: $40.65 - $56.91 Hourly

The referenced pay range represents the minimum and maximum annual salary for this faculty position. Individual salaries will be determined within the job’s salary range, and will be determined by considering factors including, but not limited to, market data, education, experience, qualifications, expertise of the individual, and internal equity considerations. Incentive-based compensation may also be applicable and will be discussed during the hiring process.
