Orolia Government Systems Business Development, Proposal and Capture Manager in Rochester, New York

The Opportunity: The Business Development, Proposal and Capture Manager will join our team at the heart of SFS growth engine and be a crucial part of our success. At SFS you will lead high-impact business development activities by identifying and securing new opportunities within the DOD market. With access to our cutting-edge technologies in APNT, GNSS Simulation/NAVWAR, and Inertial Navigation along with a diverse team of technical experts you will shape winning proposals and deliver solutions that address complex challenges. You will provide essential project management and content generation skills, expertly navigating the dynamic environment of a hyper-growth company and managing competing priorities with overlapping schedules. You will build and implement pricing strategies and collaborate with internal and external stakeholders to close deals. How I will contribute: Construct the narratives and documents that drive SFS business growth opportunities and content. Create and own the proposal process with an eye towards detail and continuous improvement to increase P-Win. In this role you will be responsible for development and maintenance of a robust library of content and graphics for use across the business. Drive proposal pricing activities, lead team in creation of cost baselines and pricing strategies. Partner with business and technical stakeholders to pursue long-term opportunities and execute SFS capture, pricing, and outreach strategy through proposals, white papers, and other documents. Monitor and flag potential opportunities to key internal stakeholders. Engage with clients to understand their requirements and tailor the proposals to meet their specific needs. Conduct market research to identify trends, competitor offerings, and client expectations to enhance proposal strategies. Maintain close coordination with SFS engineering team to accurately represent the company’s technology to existing and potential customers. Experience with ITAR, Export Requirements, CUI, TAA and international contracting. What you bring to Safran Federal Systems: Bachelor’s degree in business administration marketing, or a related field, or a minimum of 5 years’ experience in proposal and capture management; master’s degree is preferred. U.S. Person status is required as this position needs to access export-controlled data. Ability to obtain and maintain a DoD security clearance within the first 6 months of employment is required. Significant experience with the Government solicitation process. Experience and aptitude in building processes where none exists. Having PNT architecture, simulation, NAVWAR and/or inertial navigation experience preferred. Understanding the Shipley Process would be a plus Has technical writing experience Ability to clearly articulate information and to listen and understand business needs and build relationships across the organization. Comfort working with a diverse range of disciplines including, but not limited to, design, engineering, program management, supply chain, and finance. Proven track record of successful proposal submissions in the defense industry. Independent judgment and analysis applied to resolution of contract issues. Ability to work under pressure and manage multiple deadlines. Ability to reason logically and make sound decisions, to consider alternative and diverse perspectives, to communicate effectively both orally and in writing, to remain poised under all circumstances, and to interact effectively with people in a positive manner that engenders confidence and trust. Ability to exercise independent judgment and make decisions. Excellent writing skills with the ability to generate large documents on short timelines. Ability to travel up to 50% of the time Must be able to remain in a stationary position 50% of the time.
