Egan Company Safety Coordinator in Rochester, Minnesota
We are looking for a dedicated and proactive Safety Coordinator to join our Egan Company team. In this role you'll play an integral role in Egan's safety culture through conducting training, ensuring compliance with safety regulations, and serving as a key partner to project teams in the field. Responsibilities: The responsibilities of the Safety Coordinator include but are not limited to the following: Provide safety support for Rochester, MN, parts of Southern MN, and Egan's electrical prefabrication operation in Kasson, MN - approximately 75% of time spent in these areas. The remaining 25% may include supporting corporate functions or projects within the Twin Cities. Align and implement Egan Company Health and Safety programs and Loss Prevention initiatives. Communicate and collaborate with Egan Company staff with respect to Loss Prevention goals, objectives, and key performance indicators. Explore, research, and adapt new products, programs and/or technology that will further enhance the company's Loss Prevention performance. Engage regularly with field employees to assist and monitor loss prevention efforts. Develop field and trades personnel through coaching, feedback, and continuous training activities to assist in building the skills necessary to execute work safely. Maintain regulatory compliance with all State and Federal regulations. Create and deliver training opportunities to all levels of employees. Visit job sites and customer sites regularly; perform frequent job site evaluations, determine employee exposure(s) and institute acceptable work practices. Perform incident investigations, document and update Egan leadership team. Serve as the on-site safety contact at customer sites with long-term projects, as part of a rotation with members of the safety team. Develop and foster relationships with project managers and other partners through performance of work. Champion Egan's Mission, Vision, and Values; lead by example. Requirements: 2-3 years of safety experience in construction or related industry is preferred. Two-year degree or equivalent experience in a related field is required. Bachelor's degree related to occupational safety and health is preferred. Must possess and maintain a valid driver's license and acceptable driving record, as the role will require travel to various sites on a regular basis. A company safety vehicle will be provided as part of this position. Qualifications: Knowledge of the construction industry. Effective communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to work well with others. Strong organizational skills and the ability to prioritize. Ability to navigate and resolve conflict effectively. Ability to spend approximately 75% of time in the Rochester and Southern MN area, with approximately 25% of time spent in the Twin Cities. Willingness to occasionally travel overnight and out of state. Working Conditions: Performance of duties will be in the office; visits to shop and job sites as needed. A company safety vehicle will be provided as part of this position. This position may be eligible for a hybrid work arrangement after one year of employment and up to manager discretion. Ability to stand or sit for extended periods of time. Exposure to loud noise, dirt, and exposure to the elements. Climbing ladders/stairs, uneven ground, bending, kneeling, and twisting are to be expected on job sites.
